I was diagnosed with RA when I was 17, but i did not show a positive RA factor and still don't. I am am inbetween insurance and rheumatologist but the last rheumatologist didn't seem to take me serious when I asked her about lupus. My maternal grandmother had lupus, my mom has a positive RA factor as well as my younger brother who is 18 now. My dad has osteoarthritis and several other joint problems i think he has RA too but he will never ask his doctor about testing him. My symptoms are extreme joint paint not always symetrical my hands, feet, and arms will turn blotchy purplish. Swelling in most of my joints. I am currently taking prednisone 30 mg a day, nexium b/c of the prednisone, vitamins, methotrexate = 7 tabs weekly, folic acid, and lortab for pain when i have to. Any and all advice, facts, and experiences would be appreciated.
