i think i'm getting side effects or allergic reactions to med's i'm on. i take humira injection and mtx pills.
i woke up with multiple mosquito-like bites in a patch on my back & some more coming in on my arm. they itch like crazy, and they'll prob go away in a few days. this has happened before. usually in a cluster of 3, usually on my arm or abdomen. i've told my doc and she looks at me like i'm crazy, tells me it's not a side effect of any of my med's. then what the f is it? ugh. can't be spider bites. they come in 3's, usually, and 2-3 days after i take either med.
does this ever happen to anyone else?

I did have that happen when I first started on mtx. It went away in a few days, I used that "cortaid" cream and it helped a lot.

I have a lot of allergies and sensitivities, so to me it sounds like it could be your body reacting to either one of the meds or maybe something else you are using or doing... First is the doctor who looks at you like your crazy your rheumy? If it is, it may be that he/she doesn't recognize it as a sensitivity rather than a "side effect." Second, do you take benadryl when you get the rash? If you take that (there is a cheap generic) it should get rid of the rash quicker and stop the itching - if it's due to an allergy or something like contact dermatitis. Your reg doc should be able to figure it out or ask to see an allergist and go that way. I've heard people say that if you experience a side effect of a drug, then it should eventually go away - but if it's an allergy to one or both of the meds, it will most likely get worse as you continue to take or use whatever is causing it. Hope this helps...hugs jilly

I got those before I started the meds.....for me they seemed to be related to my RA. Cortisone cream seemed to help, but it seemed as if prednisone was the only thing that got rid of them. I got mine all over my fingers and in the corners of my eyelids, and they were very itchy. Since they went away quickly with the prednisone, no doctor has diagnosed it since I've been on that stuff ever since. I hope you figure it out and let me know! I do think at times I get a few bumps on my tummy but they go away quickly.......make sure nothing is rubbing there like a belt with a metal you may be alergic to. If you're using lotions, you may want to switch....detergents too. Good luck!

I itch alot from from my meds and no it hasn't subsided with time but I don't get bumps until I scratch so much I cause welts. Like Jilly I use Benedryl, but the cheap generic from target or walmart. Give it a try. Hope you feel better soon.

thanks everyone. i am very sensitive to everything. i'm on 4 different allergy med's and an inhaler. i already use non-scented, hypo allergenic creams, lotions, detergents, etc. and i make sure i wash my bed sheets & everything every other day. i guess i should see my regular doc next time this happens. and yes, the doc who looks at me crazy is my rheumy. she also doesn't seem to make a big deal about the 50 lbs i've gained since RA.

I am sorry you are not getting any sympathy from your rheumy. Hopefully your md will treat you better and refer you to an allergist or a dermatologist. I too have lots of allergies, sensitivities and asthma so I have lots of meds for that too. Hang in there...hugs jilly

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
