I just got home from having my Remicade therapy done. This is given by IV. i have had RA for about 24yrs. And do to the nature of the illnes and the effect that the meds have had on my body my veins can no longer tolerate any IV's or lab blood draws. So sometime within the next 10 days i will have one surgicaly put in. i am a nurse and i knew that this was going to happen somewhere down the RA path. But today after 9 extremely painful vein sticks and 1hr of different nurse from different depts trying i finally had a successful stick and realized that the day was here. Is there anyone out there receiving any of thier meds thru a "port" Just wondering how you did after the switch...t
