Hi Everyone,
I saw my Rheum. Doc yesterday and she wants me to try Enbrel. I was already sold on Remicade and had even gotten approved for financial assistance in obtaining it (which was also a big plus for me.) I put off the Remicade for months now because I've had a constant low grade bladder infection. I saw urologist and now take low dose of antibiotice and drink more water but urodynamic test show alls well with bladder at this point Thus my Rhuem. doc's opinion is that IF I were to have any reaction to the Enbrel it would be less side effects versus the Remicade which is give svia IV. (Am I saying this right?? ... She said I would be on a more even experience at this point.)
I would love to hear from anyone who has used either medication and your experience with each. I just last night that if you are allergic to latex not to take enbrel as will give you hives. Are bandaids latex? I get a reaction to them.
I'm rambling a lot here but feel scared and really need some support right now. It's scary and then it's the money issue and just the issue that I feel so crummy, too. I know you all understand.
Thank you for listening.
Debbie

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I was on Remicade for five years. When I stopped taking it, I was up to 700 ml. every six weeks. It was a wonderful drug for me. There was a group of us who got our iv's together in my rheumatologist's office (I'd bring something I baked and enjoy the conversation).
Unfortunately, I was one of a small group who have liver problems with Remicade that won't go away. I have to change drugs. My doctor prescribed Humera, but I hesitated in starting it. Miracle time, I may be in remission. I'm now l2 weeks past my last IV (I couldn't go more than five or six weeks before) and I'm not having any significant pain. I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time.
