Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I was diagnosed with RA a few months back, doc thinks I've had it almost two years due to my description of flares. I'm on methotrexate - just 4 pills a week, but I'm still having flares - just had one a few days ago - in my hips - could hardly walk when I woke up in the morning and had lots of pain, but recovered as the day progressed. It seems a couple of Aleve do the trick, the next day very little pain and only in the one hip. I have no damage to joints at this point and the doc thinks my prognosis is good since it looks as though i've had it over a year and a half and no damage. Reading your posts has definitely put a scare into me, and the flare the other day is not the first of its kind, seems i am having flares about once a month. i see the doc next week and i suspect she will increase the dosage of mtx. How bad does it get before they put you on these other drugs in addition to the mtx? Sometimes I forget to take the mtx--i think i'm still in a bit of denial. I'm 54 and otherwise quite healthy. This site is very good, very helpful. Thank you for all your postings.
