I have had renal insufficiency for several years now with about 35% function. I am 57 years old and had a CAT scan for a gastro problem, and the scan picked up a 1.3cm renal small cell carcinoma. My nephrologist had suggested that one option is to do nothing and do a "wait and see" due to my compromised renal function. He says renal cancer grows slowly....waiting to see if and when it grows seems like a very uncertain way to go, and the mass is located on the lateral aspect of the interpolar area. Guess this is actually inside the kidney versus the outer rim area...ANY advice ANYONE can give is GREATLY appreciated.
