I often think about how I would change things inside our justice system if I could. I personally would love to see rapists and child molesters/pedophiles be given the death sentence for what they've done. I understand that they can be chemically castrated, but that doesn't take away the main problem, which is in their brain. You can't cut out someone's brain even if you can cut off what they use to abuse. Plus, in my head, if they gave them harsher punishments then maybe others would start thinking: "Wow. Look what they're doing to us! Maybe we need to quit!"
I'm sure I can speak for almost everyone when I say that the abuse we've suffered is worse than death. In a way, they've murdered us. And I believe that malicious murderers should be put to death.
Anyway, I wanted to know what others thought about this. What kind of punishment do YOU wish for these evil people?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Rapists and bad people can sometimes just be messed up. Do you have any idea how many come from broken families and I mean really broken families?
My mother works in Canadian prison system in forensic psychology. She sees so many people who are in jail because, basically, their brains don't work right enough to allow them to exist in our society without messing up.
I'm not excusing what anyone has done. I'd love to take a 2 by 4 to the head of the person who did this to me. But I don't want anyone to die.
If I could change the system there would be mandatory psychological screening for anyone going to jail. If it comes up with results outside of the normal parameters than the person STILL goes to a secure facility, but they go to a forensic psychological facility where they can be given medications (and yes, in some cases chemically castrated) and treatments to at least TRY and fix them so they can live in society.
The way I see it, there are 3 roads we can take.
Option 1: kill 'em
Option 2: jail them and try to "punish" them. All this does is removes them even MORE from society, and likely just mess them up more
Option 3: treat/help the bastards, although they don't deserve a penny of it, it's not for them, it's to save their next victim.
I also think that what goes around comes around.
There is real evil in this world and I don't believe anyone just walks away, we may never see it happen, but it is dealt with.
There's a part of me that feels like he's still a human being, still deserving of some basic rights. Maybe he just messed up that one day and was a great person the rest of his life, I have no way of knowing. It makes me feel bad about even thinking of trying to get him to go to jail because he might be raped there, and that's never okay.
Then there's another part of me that would love to know that he's in jail being raped and tortured by everyone who found out what he did. I'd like to torture him myself, do anything to make him feel even a fraction of what he made me feel.
