For Those of You Wondering the Verdict of My Trial

It is with great sadness that I relay to all the wonderful supporters I have had this past week that my rapist was found NOT GUILTY on all three charges (rape, forcible object penetration, and sodomy).

I am livid, saddened, and pained.
I cannot believe 12 men and women let loose a violent rapist into our community.

I am sorry to all the women I tried to stand up for, and for all the women who will be sexually abused and not have the strength to go forward with charges as I had.

My case was the first rape case to ever go to trial in my County.
It is 2007 and women are still being punished for their rape.

I do not know what to do...

im so sorry you were so brave to go to trial all you can do is try your hardest to reclaim your life so they dont win at that you are so strong i wish i could have done what you did but i was to week i cant know how you must be feeling right now but try to live your life dont let them take that from you ok love jess

i am so sorry that has happened.... try and be strong at least you know you tried.... the law in this country stinks completely and i work for them!!!!!!!!! courts are just a waste of time........ be strong tho i know what you going thru and reme,ber i here if you need to talk or shout at anyone.xxxxxxxxx try and be strong lovey what goes around comes around and he will get what he deserves one day

Oh I am so sorry. You did the right thing and you were failed. Please take care of yourself and although this could be soul destroying please don't let it get the better of you. Be strong!

It looks like things have not changed to much! Sept. was 39 years ago that I had my trial and they walked free. Sorry this had to happen to you. It's still not a good reason for us not to do it. At least it puts their life on some kind of accountability for awhile even if they get set free. You did the right thing so be proud of that and know that will God will render to them their punishment. He knows the truth and one day their lies will not hold up! Big HUGS to you!

Elle, do not beat yourself over this, you did everything you could. My rapist got off too (cop error in the arrest if you can believe it) so I know how you're feeling. Hang in there though hon, it will get better.

I am so sorry to hear about this incredulous insult! I am mad as hell for you hon! What you do now is what you would have done anyway...you take really good care of yourself, take it minute by minute, day by day, and work on getting yourself stronger and keep on keeping on. Hun, I know that the verdict was extremely hard for you to deal with. Know that you were taking a stand and that it what matters. Know that you will always know that you tried to take a stand against him and that everything will be okay.

You are a strong person and I am very proud of you for doing what you did.

You know, this probably won't help you right now, but I hope someday it will: you were the FIRST case to go to trial in your county. You helped make things easier for the next cases. You're making people realize that these rape myths are just that - myths. (I'm not trying to tell you not to be angry/enraged/upset/sad, etc. - I'm just trying to bring up a new perspctive.) Anyway, things like this are mostly baby steps - Rome wasn't built in a day, to be cliche - and you took a HUGE step by being the first rape case in your county to go to trial. So for that, I congratulate you. But mourn your loss, too.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
