Medicaid is refusing coverage for my daughter to go into long term acute care. There is only one facility in our area that accepts medicaid. I shouldn't say they are refusing, they will cover care for 18 days. That is not near enough, she will need months of care. The facilty rejected her today because medicaid doesn't pay enough. What is going on here? This is criminal. Medicaid has covered her for 40 days of intense care in the hospital. She has finally made progress after being put in the new "rotoprone bed". Now she needs to go to another "special care" hospital that specializes in weaning people off sedation and ventalation. But medicaid and the hospital both are refusing. What kind of care do you call this?? The bottom line for both of these "programs" is money. They don't care at all about human suffering or life.
