I've had a dilated vein at the top of my arm ever since I can remember, at least ten years. When my PE symptoms started I decided I should have it checked out cause I had no idea what was wrong with me. I didn't know it was a dilated vein until they did an ultrasound. I know that my primary doctor told me that it could increase possibility of clots. It's never caused me any trouble before and I don't think it's what caused the clot but I was just curious if anybody else had something similar.
