I got really scared two nights ago and went to the ER after feeling a sharp pain in my chest. I was feeling really pretty good for a few days and so I don't know if it just scared me more to all of a sudden have this pain back or what. They didn't do a CT scan in the ER because I was just diagnosed at the end of january so the doctor said they already knew I had a clot. My vitals were normal and oxygen and my inr was good so they did a chest x-ray. but ofcourse i had two chest x-rays before being diagnosed and they never showed anything. The ER doctor said it was probably a muscolskeletal thing and I probably strained something, but I still want another ct scan done. It will be six weeks since diagnosis at the end of this week. Tomorrow I see my primary doctor for a follow up from the ER and I want him to give me a script for a ct scan. Do most people get second ct scans after they've had an initial and been diagnosed with a PE? When should I go for my second ct scan?
