Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
BUT I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE INR BLOOD TEST DONE SINCE MARCH,2008. I NEVER PAY ANY CO-PAYMENT YET BECAUSE I WENT TO THE LAB IN THE HOSPITAL. INSTEAD GOING INTO THE DOCTORS OFFICE. TRY GO TO THE HOSPITAL INSTEAD WITHOUT ANY APPOINTMENTS. I AM SO SURE YOU CAN DO AT THE HOSPITAL NEAR YOUR HOME... GO TO THE LAB AND GET IT DONE THER BEFORE YOU GO TO WORK OR WHATEVER IT IS. JUST A THOUGHT TO LET YOU KNOW AND EVERYONE OF YOU WHO ON THIS PAGE.

As for copays, my old doctor had me go to the lab (no charge) and then he called with the results. I don't know how they submitted it to insurance but I would be billed about $1 for each. Now, I don't pay when I go in to get the blood drawn, but my doctor likes me to make an appointment to get the results (thus a copay). I certainly don't love this system, but I just keep telling myself that I'll be off coumadin soon enough... or so I hope!
all i can say is thank goodness i got good insurance, that mess would have broke me otherwise.
