I got a rash about 2 months ago and was told by a friend that it looked like Poison Ivy. I got an OTC Cortizone and it did nothing for me.
About 4 weeks ago, I went to the doc (Nurse practitioner) and told her I had Poison Ivy. She looked at it strangely and gave me a script for Cotozone. It seemed to cause puss filled blisters.
This past Friday I went to the doctor for a check up and showed her what was going on. She told me that I had a rare skin infection that she could not label. She gave me a topical antibiotic.
Yesterday, Monday, I called and told her that the cream was causing twice the blisters and that I would like to see a dermatologist. The nurse ont he phone told me I did not want to go that route b/c it would take months to get in. I said that I could not use the cream but I could not use nothing b/c the itch was overwhelming and my skin would peel until it was raw and it looked like...like something my sister has on her feet. I told the nurse I would call back.
There is a 90% chance that this is Pustular Psoriasis. I am going to see the Derm next Friday - 10 days from now. There is one question that I cannot wait that long to ask...
Is this going to spread over my entire hand? Is there ever a minor case or is it always bad news?
My sister's feet are covered...but I cannot guarantee she takes care of them - I will take care of my hands.

Well I certainly am not here to fighten you, but suport you. My pustual psoriasis started out as small blisters and eventually spread to my entire hand and wrists...then my feet....etc What kind of doctor would ever tell a patient not to go to a dermatologist with your condition? Time for a new Dr.! The good news is you're going to a skin Dr. Topical steroids did not help me, but I also have a compromised immune system to begin with, so they may work for you. I am going to start Methotrxate injections because of the severity of my skin disease. Also, psoriais is said to be heriditary. You're getting help, so stay positive. Also, ask your dermatologist for Allegra, helps GREAT for itch! Let me know how you do!

the only way that doc can say for sure is having some of the skin removed and tested. i have it on my palms, finger tips, under the nails, on hands and feet. i had to also find out what would make it worse. hand cream, dust, cutting toms, lemons, lettuce and others. i was given a steroid cream, put it on at night and wrapped them. my hand have cleared up after some time. but i would get rid of the other doc because my doc took one look and sent me packing to a derm. until you see the derm you can put on vasoline and wrap them with ace bandages. it will keep the air away from them and will help with the itching. im sorry, i know that it hurts. put they do have meds that will help, and it does get better.

MYLife Back, Allegra? Really? I take benedryl for some relief from the itchyness, mainly inside my body. It helps. Is Allegra somewhat like benedryl? Is it an antihistimine?

I have it so far ive been luck and it has been pretty well controled. I have not been hospitalized with it yet. I have it on my hands and feet but every now and again i get spots other places but they never get as bad as my hand and feet get. If you do have it you just need to try diffrent meds and find one that works it a hit or miss with most.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
