I have had psoriasis since I was 14 (I'm almost 25). It wasn't until this year that a doctor finally called it psoriasis. She sent me to a dermatologist who put me on Dovanex.
When I went to see the derm., I literally sat in the little room waiting for him for an hour. When he finally came in, he sat down and opened his prescription pad and said, "what do you have?" I (his brand new patient) said psoriasis and flashed my elbows at him. He wrote the prescription for Dovanex and walked me to the front office to check out.
I was with him for less than 2 minutes and he barely even looked at me.
I know his "bedside manner" was obviously bad.... but I am sure I have psoriasis, and the medication works (the Betamethasone works better than the Dovanex though).....
My question is, does anyone think I should still see a new dermatologist? or do you think since I know what it is and the medication works I should be all set?
I really don't have feelings one way or the other.
I do have curiosity though, as it would have been nice for the doc to spend more than a minute with me...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I think you need someone with the same philolosphy and if you're not getting enough face time (even my derm spends time examining me) then you should keep trying. There are lots of drs out there. Good luck!
