I was diagnosed with Pseudotumor cerebi in April of 08 and been a roller coaster since. I have had about 12-15 LP and 2 blood patches each time I see the eye doctor I have lost more vision. The neuro decided on Oct 1st I need an VP shunt within the month but are having a hard time gettin into a neuro surgeon. He says I dont have time to waste cause my vision is comprimised. My pressures have never been very high like some of you say. I am always between 17-24 but I have constant headaches the swoshing in the ears the swollen optic nerves and recieve relif with the LP. I guess I just need somewhere to vent with people who understand. I just registerd with the Intercranial Hypertensinon registary and saw int their paperwork this could have to do with chronic sinusitis, which I have had. I guess if anyone can tell me the VP shunt is not that bad, I am scared to have them drill into my head and find out I have a wrong diagnosis or them to shave my head.
