I finally got my appt at UAB in Birmingham this past week to see the neuro-opthamologist. He doesn't think that I have Pseudotumor Cerebri anymore because I have not had any problems with vision or papilledema. He cut my diamox from 2000 mg a day to 1000mg a day, but still on 20 mg of Lasix. He also told me if I lose weight that it will cure the Pseudotumor Cerebri if I do have it. I am so sick of drs. telling me to lose weight and all my problems will be solved. My weight fluctuates like crazy. I will drop like 20 lbs in less than a month, then within a week gain 10. I don't change anything either. I also don't have an appetite at all, I have to force myself to eat what I do. He put me on a diet where I eat oatmeal for breakfast with a cup of OJ, sandwich with ham/turkey, lettuce, tomato for lunch, and regular meal for dinner on a small plate. I am having trouble making myself even eat that much. I started it Friday, and I have gained 5 lbs. My headaches are also getting worse each day. I am so very frustrated. I thought going to see this specialist would make things better. My neurologist here only increases my diuretics every time I see him, and have no improvement in headaches. Any advice on how to deal with this or things to try would be greatly appreciated.
