Hi all...just taking this time to vent a little. Just when you think it can't get any worse...it does. Received my shunt in May, quit my job in March due to my health and now my husband was recently layed off of his job of 19 years. He was the insurance provider for our family. I've just recently began having headaches again and still have that horrendous pain in my abdomen. It's such a scary feeling not to have health insurance and to be this sickly. Who can afford COBRA...the cost is outrageous. I don't qualify for disability or any other government benefits. It's very disheartening to know that our country does not and will not help individuals in my predicament...and not to mention how difficult it is to even get health coverage with a pre-existing condition. It's a no win situation it seems.
