I currently have a lower chest infection and i had to go to emergency for a check and antibiotics when i was asked about my past medical history i mentioned my current medication shunt and Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension and was looked at like i was nuts followed by a Do you take medication for you heart... i replied Intracranial pointed at my head and mentioned the shunt was for the IIH and pain meds for my back after being FAST TRACKED (in Australian this is the quick route through the hospital) The doctor comes sits down and asks how long has your heart been a problem again INTRACRANIAL... there was a emergency and that Doc runs off next doc seems More in tune with whats going on but she gets called away Next doctor Orders a ECG why Cause i have hypertension.. Don't get me wrong i understand not alot of people understand our condition but that is a pretty big stuff up mistaking it for a heart condition by 2 out of 3 doctors. and very inconveaniant for me as i don't need a ECG nor do i want the embarassment of having to lay top naked for the procedure (i have had a few as i used to get killer gall stone pain).. The headache i have with this infection is like the first i had when i was diagnosed but i am waiting for my MRI which could take a while still... do i go in and say i need a LP or do i wait and ride it out and hope it settles after my body cools down again
