As for my other medical maddness.. I have had my share of typicl Endocrine issues... over the years, I have learned a great deal about the endo system, spoken to doctors and other patients.. I have come to the conclusion that my A-Fib (heart issue), visual problems, Fibromyalgia, and weight issues are all meshed together into a bundle.
Over the years, I have undergone MEN-1 testing at NIH, had many MRI studies and a host of Visual tests that relate to many endo issues.
I take it in stride and try to learn as much as possible to better understand what I might face down the road.
It has also been interesting that both of my parents have been diagnosed with Endocrine -related medical issues as well. Their particular cases did not appear until they were in their late 60's (Mom) and (Dad) in his 80's. Who knows about the body and how it all relates.
The only thing I can offer is to keep your mind open, learn as much as you can, call your local medical resource center and get to a physician who is a Neuro Endocrinologist.. also make an appointment with an Endocrine Opthamologist.
These doctors are specially trained to better understand the neuro and visual issues in relationship to the endocrine system.
