Hi - I am on Cabergoline/ Dostinex since 2004. I have read literature that high dosage of dostinex can lead to valvular heart problems. This issue is evident in Parkenson disease patients where dosage can be as high as 2mg per day. However I have not seen any conclusive studies on low dosage but long term usage of dostinex. I recent had my an echocardiogram. Thankfully all is well. However I have been told by my GP that I will have to undergo this test every 6/12 months. If a vavular issue is detected, dostinex has to be discontinued. I am thinking of switching to Bromocriptine - does anyone else ot there has similar concerns or am I being overly cautious?
