Does twiching mean anything?

deleted_user
Over the past few months I have been having twiching that has been getting worse and worse, it started with an arm or a leg twich here and there...now it's all 4 limbs, sometimes my whole body, and it happens multiple times a day. Has anyone else had this propblem, or does anyone know if it's related?

Haven't been on pain meds since June (other than a short time after gall bladder surgery in Sept) and I continue to have muscle twitches I used to attribute to withdrawal......but but 6 months of twitches?!?!?! WTF is this?!?!?

deleted_user
I always twitch when experiencing withdrawal and don't know anything that helps it. I'm really sorry - just wanted to put my two cents in that it's not just you.

i have them a LOT on and off the meds...now i don't feel like such a freak!

We call it "the jimmies" It is caused by over stimulation and withdrawal. It does not go away as long as you are abusing pills. Before recovery, I would never really admit how many pills I ate per day, but now I can say I ate as many as I could get my hands on.I hate those fuckers.

I only started twitching since I have been on Suboxone. I never had the symptoms before even when I was withdrawing. I twitch more at night when I am trying to sleep. Sucks!

since i been on subutex it seem that when i lye down to sleep if i haven't taken any beno, just when i start to dose off i will get a whole body twitch or jerk wakes me right back up everytime.though when i take the benzo's i dont have that problem

I'd say it is related to the pills in one way or another. Most of the people I know, as well as myself, take narcotics, and have problems with involuntary movement. However, after a few months, it seems to have subsided.

its extremely normal. Well if you're a pill head which i am and i have the jimmies or the twitches is what you called them. I get them a lot when im trying to stay still. I jimmie with my check bones, arms, shoulders, legs, elbow, head ... almost every part of my body .. just depends how fed up i am. When im off them or coming down is usually when the jimmies are worse. The best thing to do if you dont want others to know is to be alone or with the same group thats doing the drugs u are. My mom hasnt caught on to mine but it will happen... my "friends" have... just becareful who you jimmie around but you can always play it off for a lil while but they will start noticing once it gets worse. stay strong

I don't know if this is important. But right before we fall asleep everyone twitches, both addicts and non addicts. It is the first stage really of sleep. Maybe for some people they are sleeping and waking up so much in the night that whenever they try to back to sleep this happens. Just a thought. Could be though you just got the twitchees.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
