I just posted this in response to another post but I thought it would make an interesting topic. What are the little things or mile stones that we notice that other parents may take for granted?
Here is my other post...
"I think when you have a preemie, or any child with special needs, it helps us to appriciate the little things that others take for granted. Most people can tell you their child's first word or the day they took a first step. But they miss all the little things that happen along the way.
I remember being at a bible study at our pastor's home. We had my daughter with us. The pastors wife brought out a bin of toys. My daughter was around 2 at the time. She couldn't even hold a matchbox car in her hand without dropping in. She just didn't have that kind of motor control yet. But half way through the study she pulled up on that toy box, reached in, and pulled out a toy. I was so happy. I looked at my husband and said "did you see that?" He said "oh yeah", we both started crying. We were so happy. Everyone else stopped and looked at us like we were freaks! Even after we explained her "mile stone" they seemed to not understand. How sad for them... But we all get to really see every tiny bit of progress and find joy in even the smallest thing."
*This made me think of a few more...
The day my baby could hold his own body temperature.
The day we "graduated" from each therapy program (PT, OT, Speech, Spec ED)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
