OK, I am 23 weeks pregnant. Went to the doctors and gained 11 lbs this month. I am at a total of 23 pounds so far.... I am not worried about it because I gained 60 with my daughter and I am doing much better than I did with her, but lately my rountine in the evenings are put my baby to bed and so to the kitchen, fix a warm bagel with a tall glass of milk sometimes CHOCOLATE!!!, lots of butter of course on the bagel sit down and have....Quite time!!! I have even SHHHH my hubby when he is trying to talk to me while I am eatting...Its my little piece of heaven for that moment and I don't know why.
So the doctors asked why the sudden jump in weight gain and I told him about my yummy snack. and he said only do it once a week, if I was good that week... ONCE A WEEK, I thought I was going to DIE!!!! I wake up in the middle of the night if I don't eat something before I go to bed since we eat dinner at 5-5:30.
even sometimes having the snack I still wake up but try to just drink some milk...(which I know is not any better)
SO what do you eat as a healthier snack that still takes good but doesn't have all the FAT!!!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
As for the bagel I had to give them up due to the fact that they were raising my b.sugar. I was told though that that better than butter stuff ( I found it at wal-mart, its fat free, cholesterol free, trans free) It tastes pretty good maybe still eat your bagel but switch to a better type of butter. :) Don't worry about it too much though, sometimes those things are the things we need the most. good luck!
That said, I was told by someone that hunger pains are most likely thirst pains and when you crave sugar you are actually craving white bread and fruit. I always tried water before food to see if it was just thirst and steered towards fruits and breads when I wanted sugar.
Also, just do exercise videos. I did one a day and ate whatever I wanted most the time and was fine:)
Nutella still has fat in it but not as much fat as regular chocolate, and most of that fat is healthy fat. Skip the butter on the bagel, skip the chocolate, replace both with Nutella... ooh, and on a warm bagel it gets all melted....
i invented a snack while i was pregnant.. a banana, cut a tiny little wedge lengthwise down it, and fill the wedge with a tiny bit of Nutella all the way down.
or put a tablespoon of Nutella in a bowl, and dip strawberries in it..
Omg and Nutella is so good with milk!
I also love to have a glass of chocolate milk with a banana, that's not bad for you.
No, i do not work for Nutella.
I just cant get enough of fruit salad (pineapple, mago, kiwi, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, banana, watermelon) and tropical fruit juice!!
Its really great if you have a sweet tooth and although it does have sugar - its natural sugar and you get lots of vitamins and minerals!
I've been doing a lot of hummus recently, but not a very good bedtime snack.;-)
If it's the quiet time you need. Eat half the bagel like someone else suggested while a bath is running. Get in there and shut the door to keep the hubby out. ;-)
