I am getting a little cold. My throat is sore, and my ears are starting to hurt a little bit. Does anyone know what I can take at this point? I am 36 weeks. My baby shower is tomorrow, and I would hate to be at my baby shower coughing and sneezing every where. I already feel miserable (dying to have this baby), I don't want to be anymore miserable than I am now.

ihave a cold right now as well and the dr. said the only thing I can take is Tylenol and Cholorseptic spray/cough drops for my throat :o( Thankfully I think the worst has passed for me, but hang in there :)

I've been told I can take benedryl, and I think they also said you can take dimeatap,I would call your ob's office or if you got your paperwork when you were first pregnant most ob offices will give you a list of ailments and stuff you can take for it

You can definitely take cough candies and Robitussen DM (look for the med on the back called Pseudoephedrine...this is safe for the baby.) Just keep to the recommended dose. It's two tsp every 4-6 hours. Try to get one that says decongestant on it so your ears will be relieved too. It's totally safe and will help you feel much better. Just take it before bed, and not during the day since it causes drowsiness. Enjoy that shower! Oh, and Halls are good for the throat and won't make you tired.

Cool! Click on the name of the drug (pseudo) and it is a link that also says what other stuff it's in. for instance, you can take Sudafed. :)

Oh, one more thing. Believe it or not, rubbing Vicks VapoRub on the base of each foot and wearing socks overnight is guaranteed to relieve a cough. No idea why, but it works. :)

lemon tea with honey helps with the throught. also the cough sweets you can get of the shelf of your local garage can be taken. paracetamol is safe too. hope these help. i must try the vicks vapour rub trick it sound intresting.

Actually if you want some natural methods, I would recommend steaming yourself. Boil some water, pour it into a bowl or mug and then throw a towel over your head and the bowl. It will clear your nasel passages and help a dry cough or break up a flemmy cough. Also, gargle with salt water for your sore throat. I had a cold and did this and it was not bad and only lasted about 4 days whereas everyone around me had it for 2-3 weeks. Natural is the best.

you can take cough drops for the sore throat and also you can take robitussin which is a god send for when your pregnant! It really help me get through being sick with the cold!

I was allowed to take Tylenol and Sudafed to dry up my drippy head. But always ask your doctor.

Ive been using the sudefed shower soothers, you place them on the floor of the tub when you shower, and it really helps

I would avoid sudafed, it is a vasocontrictor and I have read alot of studies that it can cause a rare birth defect where essentially the babies intestines grow outside the body. (obviously at 36 weeks this probably isnt an issue for you, only mommies that are in the earlier trimesters where the damage could be done) I used benedryl and it worked for me. I also thik those shower tabs would be good, I cant see how they could really harm the baby as you arent ingesting it. Hope you feel better, its rough being so far along and sick to top it off! Have fun at the shower

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
