I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My little sister did castor oil and orange juice. She didn't go into labour, but she spent a whole day in the washroom attatched to the toilet. She swore she would never do taht one again!
I've heard raspberry tea too.
good luck!
raspberry tea will also cause contractions, but if the baby isn't ready, you'll just be sitting there with contractions that don't lead to anything.
I don't know if anything truly works. The baby comes when they're ready. But you can always try. I'd suggest the least invasive tricks, like squating, climbing stairs two at a time, nipple stimulation, and the raspberry tea is ok, but don't be surprised if you start having contractions that aren't due to labor (you'll know it's not labor because they won't be consistent. You'll just be having random contractions, like braxton hicks only a little more painful).
In my opinion castor oil should be a last resort if you're 13 days late and have no other choice. Not only does it cause diarreah which can cause dehydration and not start labor but it can cause your baby to also have a BM and have meconium in the amniotic fluid
My mom was telling me how she came four weeks after her due date. My grandmother tried EVERYTHING to get the baby out and nothing worked. I guess they didn't do a lot of inductions back then.
With my 2nd we had sex, went on the swings, walked & walked, went for a bumpy ride, ate spicy food, had more sex..... Nothing changed. When my water broke I didn't have contractions and needed pitocin.
I will say that I did not try caster oil, though. Everyone says to try it but I asked about it and was told that it is extremely dangerous to the hormones of labor so I didn't do it. But that's just me.
Oh, and I would definitely stay away from the castor oil. My friend talked me into using it when I was sick a few years back with lots of gunk in my chest. All it did was have me stuck in the bathroom for a lot of the day. LOL
Good luck!
So sex it up!... it will be at least 6 weeks till you can even think about sex again so get it while you can!
