Unable to find the baby with a vaginal ultra-sound

deleted_user
I went to my OBGYN yesterday, and they could not find the baby's heart beat. So he hooked up the ultra-sound machine and he could find the baby and see the heart beat but the baby was no where as big as it should be, according to my lab work, I am around 14 weeks. My doctor then used the vaginal ultra-sound "stick" and he could not find the baby using that, he could only find it abdominally. Has any one else had this happen. I am so scared. I go in next week to the hospital for an ultrasound, but it doesn't make any since to me as to why he wouldn't be able to find the baby vaginally. Thanks for any advice

Sometimes doctors aren't that great with the u/s machine, and sometimes the equipment they have in their office isn't as good as what they have in hospitals and radiology places. Is it possible you aren't as far along as you think you are? I'm sorry you're having to go through this worry, and I hope everything turns out well!

Like Cherbear said, maybe the equipment just isn't up to date? I had a vagnal u/s at 6 weeks and we were able to see the baby and hear the heartbeat perfectly. Are you sure you're 14 weeks along? I'm sorry you're so worred and my prayers are with you!

*hugs* How scary!!! i wish I had some advice to give. All I can think of is to pray and try to relax and take care of yourself. That the heartbeat was there is promising. Hopefully you'll find out what's going on next week. Please keep us updated!!

Well to update everyone. I went into the emergency room because I was having severe pains on my left side. They rushed me in and did an ultrasound and everything looks great. I am only 2 months along not 14 weeks like my blood work had hinted at. The pain is because my uterus is tilted and with the baby growing it is trying to correct itself. So everything is fine, thank you for all of your consern!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
