I got into a little car accident yesterday that caused me to go into labor. I'm 33 weeks pregnant. They gave me some meds already to stop the labor, I'm still contracting but its like one every 2 to 3 hours. Because I've thinned 75% and dialated 2cm they are keeping me for a minimum of a week. They told me if I have more than 3 contractions in an hour they are putting me on magnesium sulfate. I had this done with my second child and it is the worst experience I have ever had, so bad I'm considering refusing treatment! What should I do?

although you feel like you're almost done, the baby needs every day in the womb, for weight gain and organ function, even if you have your baby now and it's healthy being early can have lasting effects some that you may not know of til later on in life, I know the medication and having to stay in the hospital is horrible but I would share your concerns with your doc, maybe there is something else they can do, but I would do what the doc says and take the medicine if you have to, I'm 33 weeks as well and I've looked up babies born around now and they are so tiny! Good luck to you, I hope you will be able to make it through a few more weeks!

Thanks, I hope I can last too. I'm just scared of taking the mag because 8 out of 75 babies die from it so does the benefits really out weight. Thanks for the response.

Did they by any chance check the babies lungs. I think they have to do an amnio, but Im not quite sure. You do have a couple more weeks before babies are developed enough to be out in this world with out complications from being pre-term. Have you checked to see which is the worse of the 2 evils. 8 out of 75 doesnt seem like bad odds but I dont know how many babies die from being born at 33 weeks. Really I would look up that info and make your risk vs benefits after you know all that. Sorry, this must be a rough situation to be in. Good luck!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
