I am currently 15 weeks pregnant with twins. We just found out this week that one of the twins has a 1 in 10,000 chance of having down syndrome while the other twin has a 1 in 36 chance of having down syndrome, and that is three percent of a chance. We are meeting with our specialist next week to take a look at the twin and talk about doing an amnio. I am just so sad and distraught. My husband and I really don't know what we are going to do. What would you do?

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Hugs, and I'm SO SORRY your going thru this! Good luck to you!
You will do what you are comfortable with.
I think part of the reason was because I am a sissy and don't want any part of having a needle stuck in my belly.
He was fine and this time we opted out of having the test done.
I do have to say that, both DH and I are biologists and we want to know every possible detail. Would the chance of knowing how severe the child was going to be affected allow you to better prepare for caring for this child? Will you choose to deliver at a different hospital?
