Okay gals - who else is having troubles pooping!?!?!? I never thought it would be me, but here I am! I started taking colace every day this week - but it isn't helping much just yet - I know I need to drink more water (which is a pain, because then I have to pee more and I am a nurse and it can be such a chore to get a break to go and pee - something I swore would never happen to me!!!)
I am also using benefiber in my tea and drinks, but not all the time - I am trying to eat more of the Fiber One Breads too.....
oh the joys of being pregnant!!

I don't exactly have the same problem. But my doctor prescribed me prenatal vitamins that come with stool softener and it's been helping me so far. Something to look into =)

Personally the fiber products did nothing for me but give me severe gas. My doc told me to use Mirolax. It worked wonders for me. It may take a day or two to make things move, but it will regualte you. YOu can put it in anything because it doesn't have a taste and dissolves completely. Hope this helps. I know how uncomfortable it can be.

This may be TMI but I want to be honest with you... TALK TO YOUR DR!!! I, too, was constipated during very early pregnancy. I took first colace once a day and then my doctor bumped it up to twice a day. It still wasn't working. Finally at 25 weeks, I would bleed every time I was lucky enough to go. I was diagnosed with a hemorrhoid. However, when the doctor went to check it, there was nothing there. In order to stop it from occuring, he told me to take Miralax. Miralax helped so much but the damage had been done. Even though my constipation was gone, after going to the bathroom one day around 28 weeks, I was in so much pain I thought I was going to die. I couldn't sit, stand, sleep, eat... all I did was cry. I went to the doctor who immediately sent me the surgeon. I had an external thombrosis, basically, an extermal hemorrhoid with a blot clot in it. It was advised that I should undergo surgery immediately or risk infection that may harm the baby! At 29 weeks pregnant I went through surgery that I honestly feel wouldn't have needed to be done if I would have been more adament about finding relief in the early stages when the constipation started. Undergoing surgery when pregnant is very scary! I was put completely out, had to have a labor and delivery nurse with me in the operating room, as well as a surgeon, anetisiologist, and surgery nurse. Everything turned out ok but it can still be quite painful at times AND depending on the outcome of the healing, I may have to have a c section. Not trying to scare you, just wanted to share my experience with you. I know my situation was rare but trust me... it is a pain you will never forget!

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
