So last night at about 6pm I started feeling some discomfort in my chest. It slowly became more intense to where it was hard to breathe and it was painful everytime my heart would beat. I drank some water, thinking maybe I was just dehydrated and then made sure I slept on my side last night. I woke up this morning and it was still there. I had to drive my mom about an hour away for her doctor appointment so I took more water with me and went to her thing. In the middle of her appointment it got way intense...to the point that if I wasn't in a doctor's office I would have gone straight to one. I called and was able to see my doctor at 1:30 today. She said my lungs are clear and it's not asthma or bronchitis, I don't smoke or drink or anything and I don't feel like I'm stressed. She left it as it could either be anxiety or it could be signs of early contractions but I'm only 18 and a half weeks. She gave me a very low dose Category B anti anxiety medication that she wants me to take for the next two weeks and then come back in to see if that's helping. She also is scheduling for me to have a chest x-ray (while sheilding my uterus) to check anything she could have missed in my lungs and then to have a holter monitor for 24 hours to monitor my heart and see what's going on with it. These are all things that she gave me an option on and I told her to go for it. It's scary to not be able to breathe and feel like your heart is going to give out at any moment. Anyway, did any of you experience this? I know it gets difficult to breathe later in pregnancy but I just started showing about a week ago. I guess I'm just looking for some assurance so I don't worry about this all night. I go to get the monitor tomorrow morning.
