I need your advice, especially if you have been pregnant before. I'm 8 weeks now and due June 8th. In the middle of April, my husband and I have a trip to Washington DC and Colonial Williamsburg planned. (We're teachers so we can only travel during breaks from school). I'll be just about 7 1/2 months then, and the car ride will be about 8 hours each way and there will be a lot of walking...should I cancel the trip? I'm not sure how much I will be able to enjoy sightseeing if I have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes...what do you think?

it all depends on how you feel. everyone thinks that i am mad for carrying on with my 2 jobs both of which are active. i am only 6 months pregnant at the moment but i fully intend to keep going till after christmas. if you feel like you would enjoy this break then you should definatly go for it and do it. being active is good for you and the baby and what are a few extra toilet breaks in the long run. the drive will be fine you can sleep alot and keep your energy levels up and just stop every couple of hours to stretch you legs. play music on the car stereo to the baby and talk to it. hope that helps, its just my opinion though. its your body and your baby so its your decision.xxxxxxxxxxxx

It depends if you think you will be up for the trip because at seven and a half months you will be alot bigger than you are now.But maybe your trip will do the world of good before the baby is born maybe speak to your husband and doctor and just tell them your abit concered about the trip maybe the can help you make a proper decision.

Can you wait until closer to the time of your trip to cancel? You may be fine, or you could be miserable or having complications by that point. It might be nice to have one last getaway with your hubby before baby. You could also look at a different trip that would involve less walking.

My doctor said I was okay to travel up to 7 months. I would ask your doctor.

I would definitely ask your doctor. But, I do think you might be a little uncomfortable and maybe tired.

Definately check with your doc and get his advice, but its really all on you, because on you'll know how your feeling. I think an 8 hour car trip may be rather uncomfortable for you, but as long as you prepare for it, and make sure you have pillows, and tennis balls, things you can use when you're uncomfortable you should be fine. You'll probably have to take it easier with the sight seeing than you would have otherwise, but i'm sure you'll still enjoy it. A holiday may be the best ting for you? I'm due this saturday and was still going for long walks along the beach, and doing 2 hour car trips every weekend up until about last week (now i'm on bed rest for high blood pressure - unrelated) But yeah, you just need to make sure you listen to your body and rest when you need to rest through your trip. Lots of love xx

Thanks for all your advice! We're going to do something with less travel time and walking involved - Montreal in April should be nice!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
