I was talking to another pregnant friend about what bottles she would be using, and she was surprised that I was planning to use Avent or Dr. Brown's if the Avent didn't work. She said the plastic in them was dangerous and that she was using glass or Playtex Drop-ins if the baby didn't do well with glass, so I came home and read on the internet for hours about the dangers of plastic. I was already freaked out about the lead in toys and such, which has made me afraid to buy any toys for the baby, and now I'm not only worried about baby bottles, but sippy cups, my own Nalgene water bottle I've been using the entire pregnancy, the 5 gallon jugs of water that we fill with filtered water and put on a cooler at home, Tupperware, and more! It's left me thinking my 8 and 5 year old should be drinking from glass cups! Are any of you concerned about this, or are my hormones taking over??

I got really paranoid when I thought of how many times I have been using the refillable water jug with the filter and the plastic bottles for water or juice. I figure I am just going over board, as there truely are risks in everything we breath/eat/drink while pregnant. I am ordering glass bottles, but I did find a site that explained how the plastic needs to be heated to 212 F for it to affect the plastic molecules. I personally feel safe with the glass, and it seems it is easier to sterilize them, as the plastic ones float too much. I would try not to worry too much about stuff... I know I worry waaaay too much and have been keeping my mind full of worries and stresses ( I have three cats and I am just freaky about how clean the house is with them in it). As long as we take care of ourselves and keep things clean I am sure it will be all good. However, we can always blame the hormones!! LOL

YOu shouldn't worry too much in my opinion. I used the Avent bottles with my first daughter and she did just fine. I also used the bottle liner ones also. I didn't use glass bottles. I didn't feel comfortable with them because I am really clumsy. People have been using plastic bottles for decades now. Nothing seems wrong with us. The Avent bottles and Dr. Brown bottles are really great bottles. They help with colic and gas and stuff of that sort. Talk to a Pediatrician about it to get more insight on it. I don't think you should worry that much though. Like intrigue said it is a risk in everything that we do, from breathing to eating to sleeping.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
