I think that its great that you are ignoring all those awful stories. I look forward to labour as an experience that I will always treasure. I want this baby more than anything and I will be happy to bring it into the world. They say that the thing that makes labour difficult for the majority of women is their fear. So keep that happy feeling going! Ignore the scare stories and just be optimistic.

everyone told me how awful labor would be with my first but I focused on the after product.... my son!!! If the pain is unbearable their are methods to manage it. I did not find labor to be nearly as bad as everyone made out!

I am personally looking at it from the angle that our bodies are made to do this and women have been doing it since the beginning of time. I have had chronic pain issues for most of my life and at least with the pain labor brings, there is an end to it and the end result is a beautiful baby!

There's no point to being scared - it's not going to change anything anyway! I wasn't really scared the first time either. Once it all started, I got a bit nervous. The third time around, I'm actually a bit more nervous I think because I've heard too many horror stories (not about the pain as I've done that before, but about things going wrong), but if I just don't think of them, I'm OK! The pain is bad, but if you can't handle it, take some pain meds. Just knowing that relief is available if I want it helps me relax.

As i replied to your other discussion, i am 38 weeks aswell and to be honest i am not scared of giving birth, it's a natural thing in my eyes. My brother and sister in law jus had their first bay born by c-section and my brother keeps telling me have a c-section it wont be painfull blah, blah, blah but to be honest i am looking forward to the pain cos i know as soon as i see my little girl when it's all over everything wil be forgotten. Dont listen to what other people say, everybody is different. Goodluck x

I'm not really scared at this point, but there's a lot of time for me to change my mind. *L* I'm kind of looking forward to letting my body do its thing and just kind of being along for the ride.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
