Pregnancy - Teens Support Group
This community is dedicated to the experience of being pregnant as a teenager. Pregnant teenagers face many of the same obstetrics issues as women in their 20s and 30s. However, there are additional medical concerns for younger mothers, particularly those under 15 and those living in developing countries. For mothers between 15 and 19, age in itself is not a risk factor,...

Hey!!!
I am 33weeks today, I am going to be going for another u/s on Friday coming up so I will be 33w4d when I go. It is to make sure he isn't too big because he is measuring by the midwife bigger then he should be!
I am scared that they will say oh wow you are due in a couple of weeks or that they don't think that I will be able to give birth to him Naturally. I want to gve birth naturally though my biggest fear in this pregnancy was that he was going to be too big. I had read a story saying that there was a baby that was too big and they couldn't get him out so they had to break his collar bone to get him out! I don't want that to happen!! I don't want pain to be the first thing to happen to him in our world!
I am scared they will find something wrong with him I have soo many fears! What if they say that I need to get an emergency c section!!
I needed to let that out and am hoping that someone will answer. I want to know of any experiences of a baby being too big complications. births that have gone perfectly!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am not scared of the pain of labour just about things going wrong with baby, I know that I have to go through the pain to get my baby here!
I am not going to use f=drugs in the labour unless I am ready to give up!
The reasin they broke the collar bone is because the head was out and they couldn't get the shoulder out. It is toolate to get a c section after a certain point.

lol, I am ment to be going and putting my carseat on layby tomorrow! They better not tell me I am further then I think and that I am due before I will have my carseat!! LOL
You should be able to go to a local maternity ward and talk to someone there. Also do you have like a health line where you can ring and talk to registered nurses and doctors etc sometimes they have midwives you can talk to or a number for someone to talk to. Explain your situation and they should want to help.
Now onto your bubba being too big...at least he isn't tiny, tiny babies go into emergency care. They will likely give you a c-section if he is too big to fit. C-section can be a shock for all o us hoping for a natural birth but you can still bond with bubba.
They can put him on your chest for skin to skin time, it will take longer for you to recover but in the long run a healthy bub and mum is the main thing. Try not to worry too much the drs will sort all the medical side out and make everything as safe as possible for you and your little Mr
Mommy23; thanks, I know I guess I am just having the ususal fears maybe? When I first found out I was pregnant I was wanting to have a c section! Then when I got closer to by baby and accepted him alot more I couldn't bring myself to do it! I also seen a video of a c section getting done and I couldn't handle that!!!
7monthmummy; yup you have managed to give me soo many fears with your pregnancy!! I have always been scared tht I would have a little girl instead then I read your journal that day and wow!!! LOL
Teenmama- thanks, I just really hope that everything will go well I have always had that fear that he would be too big! And not pain wise just that I wouldn't be able to get him out myself!!!
I go tomorrow for the scan so I will post again afterwards and let you all know how it went!

A plus side of having a c-section is that your pelvic muscles will be less damaged. Though it is thought that c-section ladies bleed longer.
