Premenstrual Stress Syndrome (PMS) is stress which is a physical symptom prior to the onset of menstruation. PMS is exceedingly common, occurring in 75% of women of reproductive age during their lifetime, characterized by symptoms of mood swings, depression, anxiety and irritability. It is often accompanied by physical symptoms such as bloating and cramping.

Anyone here on a PMDD med who is also bipolar and the PMDD med is working for both?

I am bipolar 2 and taking depakote er 250. It is the first thing that has made any difference with my pmdd and the bipolar. I like it because I take it at the same time every night and I have had no side effects.

I am bipolar. When PMDD became bad, they increased my Paxil and that seemed to help with the anxiety. I also went on YAZ bc. That has helped me tremendously! I have not had the mania or depression that I was seeing.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
