i do not believe for one minute that less than 10% of women suffer from PMDD. just by looking through this board i see several sufferers. doctors have no idea what they are talking about. and the only thing i've been told is that i have a personality disorder. which is what PMDD is, or may as well be.
i cannot live a normal life. 2 weeks before my period i am freaking out because i know that the next week is going to be HELL. the week RIGHT before my period is so bad that i don't want to be in my own skin. i am on ortho tri cyclen so i can tell when the madness is coming. i feel lost, alone, confused, frustrated...im having panic attacks over stupid shit...
if anyone can give me any advice PLEASE i would appreciate it. i dont know how to handle this along with having major depression. i'm going out of my mind.
thanks for taking the time out to read this if you do. sorry for rambling.

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
If you are interested, I just created a support group specifically for PMDD:http://dailystrength.org/groups/PMDD. I am the only member so far because I just created it yesterday, but I really wanted a place that I could talk to people about PMDD specifically, not just PMS.
If your doctors still won't listen you can probably ask for antidepressants even for the "personality disorder". Thats probably what they would prescribe even if they agreed you did have PMDD.
Good luck and I hope this helps!
i am glad you made a support group on here. i will go and join it. its nice to know i am not alone. thank you so much.
i don't have PMDD but get bad pms. i am working with my acupuncturist, it's a slow process, but most months i am in PMS zone from day 15 (i've posted lots about this) THIS month i have made it to day 19 and only now have the dreaded PMS symptoms (nausea, bad stomach, jsut don't feel right, now feel lethargic etc). I am fighting the emotional side a bit via exercise but i still have 6 days till i'm due so time will tell.
i know it's expensive but natural/alternative therapies have been a godsend for me, even though i am a work in progress.
i agree about iron etc (i forgot mine at work, so will hit them tomorrow) and i forgot to take my B vitamins today, i wonder if this is part of why i feel blah today!
i do take pms vitamins though, by aussie vitamin company blackmores. i'm upping those to 2 per day from today!
def try another doctor if you can. it can be tricky! i am so sorry you guys have the insurance issue over there. thankfully in australia we have free health care/doc visits.
