We were turned down for a new home equity loan because the credit report listed us having too many accounts with too high balances. We only have 1 credit card and 1 small car payement and 1 small school loan. Both loans will be payed off in 2 years. We got a copy of my husbands credit report and they have listed many, many past accounts that was paid off and closed. The report doesn't show them as being closed. I am thinking that this is what is hurting us. Our 1 credit card is at its limit and we pay the minimum most months and other months lay a chunck of money on it. Never late.
My question is, has anyone experienced making changes to their credit report? If it was a hassel, what road block did you hit?
3 years ago we had to file bankruptsy. I was told we would be eligable for loans after 2 years with better interests rates. So it puzzels me why we were turned down? We bought a car 2 years ago with no problem. I am wondering if I really know how to make changes to my credit report properly? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

still, there are a lot of people in this group who have input. yOu have to call each of the three credit agencies and get each of their reports on you and then write them to make the proper corrections and then wait two months and do it again. Suzie Orman (who you need to google) said things will pop back on the report after you tink it was removed. Thank God you still have your identity!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
