Triggered by a Chapter in Textbook

have a midterm coming up for Learning Psychology. The problem I am having is chapter 6: "Operant Punishment". Chapter 1-5 on the test will be pulled from the pool questions used for the quizes. Chapter 6, is not covered by quiz so all the questions on the midterm will be new. I haven't been able to read the chapter. Each time I start reading a get in a paragraph or two, I would start crying. Take a break come back a few more paragraphs, break down crying. I am not sure what to do. I can only take so much reading the word "punishment". The midterm test consist of 75 questions, and I bet majority of the questions will be from Chapter 6. Worth 30% of my grade. I am worried that I will recieve a low grade on the midterm because I am not able to read the material. I am not sure whether or not to ask for an alternative to Chapter 6. (This is the only chapter that I have a hard time with out of 12 chapters.)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
i was taking medical terminology, and the same thing happened with a certain subject..but i just had to take some deep breaths and try to block out the words that were hard to read..while still trying to get the info into my mind, that i needed. good luck
Try using 'Pumpkin'...It might work!
If not, talk to your Prof...see if anything can be done.
It is important, however, that you process what is going on there. If you are in counseling, take the book with you and try working through it with him/her. Most larger schools have a mental health facility in conjunction with their health center that is free of charge to students. Check it out and take advantage of it. It sounds like you really need it.
