Do you think if when you once dived into your career, became so immersed in it....Ya know, became Super at it...and then one day, something came along to take the allure of workaholism away...like children, or a love interest, or something....
Then that took the focus off your work....and your focus had time to drift...and it drifted to earlier times....and brought forth your PTSD???
The work kept you so occupied, you had no room to think about it...until something diverted your attention.
What do you think of that??
Do you think something like that may have happened in your life??
I was just thinking about this scenario the other day. B/C once I had my first child, work became less and less important to me...My child was more important.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Changes in life causing our priorities to shift are a normal part of life. Marraige and children especially. THen, when one or both go away, leaving us with the "empty nest," there is another shift in priorities, usually back to ourselves. When these priority shifts happen, it would be a ripe time for PTSD symptoms to surface.
I was burning out, so I left the pressure behind. I moved away from the Silicon Valley and took a job that is less demanding ... if not downright easy. At first it was nice. I had free time. Then it all started.
The sleepless nights, sadness, memories.
It sucks.
DD...Like your Humpty Dumpty rewrite ;)
Of course, who wants to live in that either? [sigh]
