Its been over 2 yrs now since "THE STORM"..
I have good days and bad days..It defiently brought on a whole new meaning of the word "devastation" to me....
I have few friends here in Ga....And I find myself lost @ times...
Sleep doesn't come easy unless I'm taking my meds..Then theres the "NIGHTMARES" when I do sleep..Dreaming of being under water..
My room mate /long time friend drown in front of my face..I saw her body, along with 4 others, for 3 almost 3 days before being rescued.....

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Welcome to DS...this is a wonderful supportive community.
Are you in therapy as well??
No, I'm not in therapy..I've been to Drs that have prescribed meds..Guess that's my next step....
You can't keep it all inside...it helps to let it out and talk about it.
I write down my dreams too...and share them with my therapist.
I think that until you process those memories, they will keep popping up in your dreams, flashbacks, intrusions, etc.
Good Luck!
Check out www.sidran.org for lots of helpful info on PTSD. You can also get referrals from them for local trauma therapists.
Also i keep ajournel of them and lets say a few weeks later i re-read them and i can actually see something in them i never seen before its great therphy for the mind to keep a journel of them you can do that on here or have a book to do it with but does help...
