I am in therapy for PTSD related to my participation as a first-responder in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
For the past few months I have developed a growing and concerning problem. Basically, I can not remember much of anything. I am missing appointments, forgetting both important and mundane tasks and forgetting what happened yesterday, etc. As well, I can't seem to concentrate on any one thing for any length of time and often find myself daydreaming or in a fog. These symptoms are embarrassing to me. I am the kind of person who considers being ten minutes early for an event or task as being "on-time." My therapist suggested writing notes which I have done, but I forget to check the notes and besides, it seems to be impractical with the number of things I forget. I'd be writing notes all day long.
Any advice on how to conquer this problem or how to deal with it in the interim is much appreciated...Hopefully I'll remember to check back!
