Postpartum depression (also postnatal depression) is a form of major depression which can affect women, and less frequently men, after childbirth. It is widely considered to be treatable. Studies report prevalence rates from 5% to 25%, but methodological differences among the studies make the actual prevalence rate unclear.

I just gave birth to my first child, a beautiful son named Alex, on November 19, 2007. The PPD literally started in the hospital about 30 minutes after delivery. Now I feel like I'm losing it. I cry over nothing. I get anxious if I don't see my mother or my husband when they say they'll be here. I dread nighttime because I don't sleep. I don't eat right. All I have to do is look at my little boy and I'll bawl.
I'm taking 150 mgs of Zoloft but I still feel so lost. I need major support. Please, someone tell me I'm not crazy....

I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

Why don't you ask your Dr for a low dose of Xanax to help with your anxiety's, It has worked wonders for me but as I mentioned I do have other issues in my life.. and the medication is one in which you must be careful with.. There is also klonopin. They are both fast acting and help you to relax... Best wishes to you and congrats on your new edition!
