Post Partum Depression Support Group
Postpartum depression (also postnatal depression) is a form of major depression which can affect women, and less frequently men, after childbirth. It is widely considered to be treatable. Studies report prevalence rates from 5% to 25%, but methodological differences among the studies make the actual prevalence rate unclear.

I just started Lexapro just under two weeks ago. At that point.. I was barely eating or sleeping and just riddled with anxiety. I lost my baby Ella in my 23rd week of pregnancy and had a horrible delivery that lasted days.. anyway.. I feel the Lexapro is helping me get my focus and drive back. My question is - to any moms who have used this med. does it tend to make you feel a bit fuzzy at first? my anxiety is definitely decreasing.. and I am able to eat and sleep better.. I was just wondering if its normal to feel a bit fuzzy until the med takes full effect? Thanks to anyone who has insight!

My husband and I are both on Lexapro...I was fuzzy in the beginning but I am doing much better..I've been able to eat more and sleep better. Keep taking it though because if you stop taking it your hormones will flip out trust me.

I am very sorry for your tremendous loss. I am on Lexapro and it literally was a lifesaver for me. The first two weeks on the med sucked! But once I got past that I was much better. Now my only side effects are wanting to eat more (I have gained 4 pounds) and sexual side effects (no orgasm!). My Psych put me on Wellbutrin to try and counteract the side effects. I also take Seroquel (very low dose) at night to help me sleep and quiet my mind (I think too much at night). I suffered from PPD with both of my boys. Good Luck and I hope you start feeling better--Jenna RN,BSN

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
