I just noticed how busy this site is not. I don't know what happened. I post but i see what you meen.
Were did everyone go i wonder. Don't really know how to alert people to this group? This is a shaim, i could use a site like this. Maybe they went to the Daily Positive thought's site? I will post and maybe if we both do, something will happen. Wish we could Advertise it on here. Wouldn't even know how.
Many Hug's to you.
I didn't even know about the "Daily Positive Thought" site.
Good to see you Gimme!
I wasnt feeling so great today but had to go into town to get hub's prescription and milk. It seemed like everyone knew that I needed cheering up. So many people said hi, and esp at grocery store asked if I found everything I needed. One lady even stopped and helped me look for dippitydo for my hubby's hair and we laughed and talked about hair. It was so nice.
Hugs to you Gimme!
Ya someone told me about it. I have allway's been so negative, that's why i liked this group, because i am very nervous and get anxiety in a heartbeat. I love the group's that people make up. I was on some of the main ones, they seemed at at least some of them were very clicky and didn't really want me in there little group. No prob, don't need people like that, so i go to the smaller sites now. We usually know what we want and need before they do. Glad you got cheered up today. That was very nice.
Hug's to you also xoxo
I'm here! : ) In my case, I've been away dealing with a flooded basement (due to excessive rain) and health issues. But, like you, I think the premise of this group is great. Let's see what we can do to keep it going.
SYGO...I like your avatar. She looks like she means business! : )
Have a great day, both of you!
Hi all. I have been mia for health and travel reasons. I try to keep a positive attitude. I believe that the subconscious doesn't know a lie. If I am doing negative self-talk, the subconscious believes it. If I am doing positive self-talk, the subconscious believes it. So if I lie and tell myself that I am happy, my subconscious believes it, too
Good thoughts Marion!
Sorry to hear about the flooded basement Ladybug. I have had to deal with that too and its not fun.
Yes, my little avatar doesn't take any guff. She is strong and determined.
Hugs to all of you, and thankyou for coming back.
My avatars change all the time (I like and do things to make me and others smile).
I've been busy expanding a business of mine plus taking care of an elderly mom.
However, I thought this group kinda petered out and didn't know if anyone ever came here any more.
Guess it's gonna thrive afterall.....whew!!!!
Tell me more about your business MS B! I see that you are busy with your mom and hope you get some respite.
Your avatar is hilarious!!!!
Well, I've been a hairdresser for 38 years. I worked on deceased ppl for 30 of those years as a hairdresser (retired from that business last year). It has taken a toll on my body (I use to do hair 12-15 hours a day, 6-7 days a week) and so it has been winding down. It has pretty much become a hobby at this point....
However, I received some commercial property in my divorce several years ago and I started renting it out to 18 wheelers (they NEED places to park their trucks on the weekends and between loads). It is hard to find places the counties will allow them to park. I have very strict regulations but in doing so....I've filled every spot possible on the vacant part of my property.....so I've obtained another property and have been doing some annexing and getting the property prepared for the 100+ truckers waiting for a place to park. there is literally thousands of truckers in dire need of parking. So I have spent countless hours working with bankers, insurance companies, counties, and others that are on board with this expansion. It just kinda fell in my lap.
It is a far cry from where I started and so far in the opposite direction of hairdressing....or working with dead people :P
I'm hoping to help prevent another Tracy Morgan vs Walmart accidents in the near future. Truckers need a safe, clean, responsibly run truck parking lot close to the truckers home. They are tired of being robbed of gas, LED lights, mirrors, and gps systems. Those costs trickle down to us consumers in the long run.
So that is it in a nutshell.
Mom lives in an Independent Living Facility and can pretty much take care of herself....so far. However, I took her car away so I drive her around. We went and had manicures and pedicures today :)
Glad my avatars can bring a smile or chuckle....they even crack me up :P
Sometimes ya just gotta make your own happiness or amuse yourself!
So what do you (and others) do for a living? Or for fun?
I'm a stay-at-home writer/artist on SSDI. For fun I write, paint, do witchcraft, pet my cat, bake, and fuck around on the Internet. I have no job and don't see working ever again as my conditions in addition to anxiety include Schizoaffective Disorder (that's Schizophrenia and Bipolar together, party) and PTSD.
I just got here, to this group, and looking at the recent posts it seems to have picked up. That's good. It can be hard to keep the smaller groups going.
Nice to find out more about you Andrea and MsBlank1.
I'm a stay at home wife. We moved from Western Canada to various places thruout the states in the last 15 years and still don't have our green card. A big PITA!
We just recently moved to 5 acres out in the country. Our back acreage is cleared and I was telling hubby we should do something with it - like mini golf or target practice or something. Wish I lived close enough to help truckers.
I seem to keep busy with gardening and looking after our property. Building rock gardens and looking after our pond - which has catfish and a few other fish and lots and lots of tadpoles. Boy, those frogs get noisy on spring nights.
I try to keep busy with my church and helping out my neighbors. I love to do paper crafts and little painting projects.
Right now, I am really into reading and adult coloring books.
Hi. I'll chip in when I can. A more positive outlook surely wouldn't do me any harm. I'm a more recent sufferer of some of the more severe forms of anxiety. Just the last 4 months or so of the GAD, panic part of anxiety, but after reading up on it after my diagnosis I can see where things started to fall apart as long as 3 or 4 years ago. It was actually an incorrect diagnosis by a doctor some time back that put me over the top. Until he revised my diagnosis 6 weeks later I thought I had a terminal illness. Try going 6 weeks thinking you have about 3 years to live and a terrible slow death in front of you to look forward to and see what that does for your mental health. Lol.... Even after they re xrayed my chest 6 weeks later, and found that the gap in my lung had disappeared and was therefore a mucous plug from a lung infection that had then broken up and dissipated, and not a gap where my lung tissue was being destroyed, the damage had been done. I'd become somewhat obsessed with my own impending death that every little thing that went slightly off kilter in my body, like an occaisional heart beat irregularity which is actually normal, particularly in coffee drinkers, seemed to be a death knell to me. I can laugh about those thoughts at this particular moment, but when you are caught up in those thoughts it's no joke at all I'll tell you.
SYGO.......I too am a western Canadian. Over here in Vancouver, or rather I should say, recently moved to the Vancouver suburb of Surrey after a lifetime in Vancouver.
Hi ZigZAG! ( I can't tell if your name is a zig or a ziq) LOL! I was born in Vancouver. I miss the ocean. We lived in Calgary for awhile and now have moved from the State of Washington, to Arkansas, to Kentucky and now Indiana. I don't wan to move anymore.
I am so glad that you aren't terminally ill and you have a proper diagnosis but sympathize with you and the scary news you received. That really requires a positive attitude.
Glad to have you here. What do you like to do for FUN?
Well. It's been a good long while since I had any fun, but sports and I read a great lot while my
. gathers dust. It's not actually been on since last spring. I've always read a fair bit but I started to use audio books on my phone while away from home to distract me from what was going on in my head so I went from an average of maybe 2 books a month since high school up to 2 or 3 a week since I could listen at work too. I guess that will go back to what it was as I get my self back. So yeah, books, hockey, martial arts, my pets and a few good friends is what entertains me. Oh yes, absurdist humor. A big fan of Monty python and similar comedy.
Wow, ZZZ - I love reading too. It's cool to read about everyone's hobbies and loves.
