I used Vanicream while I was in the process of being diagnosed, so it was during the period of time that the dermatologist I was seeing thought that my rashes were due to an allergy. I found that it (like all body washes and lotions besides Aveeno...for me anyway) made my skin swell slightly, esp. in my face...however, Vanicream sunscreen is the sunscreen that I use when I absolutely must be outside in the sun.

I bought vanicream after my dermatologist gave me a sample. I found it on a website online for about $17 per tube and bought 2 tubes. A little goes a long way and was good enough coverage for me to hang out on the beach with my daughter in costa rica and i got absolutely no color from the sun at all, so i guess it did it's job.

It is pretty heavy and very greasy, but it did not irritate my face at all. I only stopped using it this winter because i could not stand the greasy looking face anymore, but it is a good product.

Ive been using the vanicream mostly on my face and hands, wondering if this is whats irritated my face. And then I've also used the sunblock too? wondering if this is why my forehead is itching? Wondering if anyone else has good ideas for sunblocks? or creams for face?

I got a Neutrogena facial sunblock I really like. It is a spf 100. I like it because it is light and doesn't feel greasy. I was in the sunshine for 6 hours Saturday and don't have any tan/burn! :-)
