I just had a beautiful son four months ago and have begun wondering what to do to manage my PCOS now that I am not trying to conceive. I took Metformin and Clomid to become pregnant, but was wondering if I should continue taking Metformin. What do you do to manage your PCOS?
Thanks!
Thanks!

After having your baby did you continue the BC and metformin? And if so, how long after giving birth did you start taking them?

After having my baby in February I started back on the metformin as well because it helped with my blood sugar. I never really noticed anything as far as my PCOS was concerned. I got on it too to get pregnant.

I have PCOS and I'm not trying to get pregnant yet so my doctor has me on Metformin(to manage the PCOS) and BC pill (to prevent pregnancy). It seems that is probably what your doctor would do for you but it is up to you and your doctor, I'm sure there are other options for BC besides the pill and it could all depend on if you want to have anymore children or if you and your husband would consider surgical options to prevent pregnancy. All in all I'd say you should stay on Metformin because PCOS doesn't just affect your fertility and you don't want all those other symptoms to come back.

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly the information I was looking for. I am going to make an appointment with my doctor and discuss this.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
