Polycythemia is a condition in which there is a net increase in the total circulating erythrocyte (red blood cell) mass of the body. I know this is going to be TMI, but I can't hold off on asking anymore. After the miscarriage in January, I started a normal cycle on Feb 5. On cd 10 -ish I noticed that my breasts were very tender and swollen. Somewhere in the back of my mind I figured it was just some PMS and that it would go away soon. Not making the connection of what cd it was, it's just something that happens to me.
From cd 10 -ish until now, cd 21, the tenderness and swelling has just gotten worse. It's now almost unbearable. When I called my drs office and voiced my concerns, I was told that it was nomal because my met level was increased. I was taking 850mg twice a day and now I take 1350mg twice a day, working my way up to 1000mg twice a day per the RE's suggestion.
Since upping the met I have notice that I do feel overall better, more normal than I've felt in a long time. For the first time in years I've not had any dryness issues, acne is GONE, excess hair growth is receeding, sex drive is back to normal... so all in all this little bit of breast tenderness is like balancing the scales. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!
At work I have to wear a sports bra to keep the girls in line and nice and still. When I bend to lift someone, to transfer, we end up pressed together chest to chest like hugging... sort of. It's getting to the point that I can't even let my arms rest against them, like how would happen when you push a shopping cart (or in my case wheel chair). It's crazy.
Anyone else have this happen when met is increased to levels that actually help?? Will this ever end?

A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
Im working up to 1000mg of met- so Ive noticed some sensitivity, but like I said above- when the cycle starts over its ok- just give your body some time to adjust.
I'm thinking that there is something wrong with me. Seriously, I have never had any GI issues from Metformin AT ALL. I guess that's not completely true. I don't get nausea or diarreah, but it does sometimes seem like my whole digestive system has shut down. I did ask my dr about that last time I saw her, and all she said was, 'That's how you know you need it. If it doesn't make you throw your toenails up, then you need it.' So how do you explain all the other women that need the meds that still throw up their toenails. Doesn't make much sense. I don't suppose anyone else had the opposite side effects from Met, meaning no GI problems.
