My Dr recently told me I have PCOS and my research led me to this site. My question is..is it possible that I have this? I have all the symptoms except my periods are fairly regular and I haven't seen anyone post that. Also, I have been able to get pregnant, I just haven't been able to keep the baby past 10 weeks. Dr thinks PCOS could be the reason behind it. Anyone else in the same situation? I have been put on Metformin and told to drop some weight before even thinking of trying to have another baby. Also found out I have an underactive thyroid and they put me on meds for that too!! This sucks. I have never been so depressed. I feel very, very alone in this. The weight is not coming off as fast as I thought..sigh

Every person is different, and my guess is that your doctor is probably right, if you have most of the other symptoms that come with it. I don't have the same issues that you have, but I can tell you that you are not alone. Although, an underactive thyroid could be the problem for your weight issues...you may want to try changing the way you eat. I can recommend a book called PCOS The Diet Book. It's fabulous and may help you if you do have PCOS. One of the most frustrating things about PCOS (after the fertility issues) is not being able to lose weight. It frustrates me every day. You are not alone...I am always willing to talk if you need an ear to listen.

Every ones body is different, like Christy and you I also have different issues. Its good that your doctor put you on Metformin, it helped me a lot. Also with the PCOS I found a book called PCOS the hidden epidemic. It is so helpful, it has a weight loss chapter, and pregnancy after loss, and a few more that i've found helpful. Good luck and I'm here if you need to chat, God bless!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
