Hello everyone! I am new to this group but not new to PCOS. I was diagnosed four years ago at the age of 20. The only medication I take is Othro-Tri Cyclen Low b/c and I've had success with it as far as regular periods and little side effects. WELL, just last Tuesday, I was having cramps so bad, my husband took me to the ER. After testing to see that my kidneys, appendix, and other organs were ok and that I wasn't pregnant, the dr. ordered X-rays and a CAT scan. They found, what they thought, was a baseball size tumor on my pelvis and I was rushed to the hospital where my OB/G performed surgery. They were prepared to do a fully hysterectomy if they found cancer. It actually turned out that I had an 11cm cyst on my right ovary which had blocked the blood flow in my tube, causing my ovary to actually pop off! They took the ovary and tube and found smaller cysts on my left. My Dr. said she will want to remove the other ovary within the next 3-4 yrs. My husband and I have decided not to try to have children because of all the complications that could happen. My MAIN concern is now that I have only one ovary, what changes can I expect in my body? Has anyone ever heard of and ovary being pinched of the tube from a cyst! I feel like that condition should be named after me!!
