I want to have a period!

I haven't had a period in 3+ months. The birth control I was given this time is causing terrible acne. I think my OB/GYN and I have come to an end. He doesn't know what else to do for my. The endo told me everthing is in my head.

Let me quit ranting and get to the question. Since my doc can't help me, does anyone know if there is anything I can do(or take) to bring on a period. I hate going this long without having one. It worries me so much and I would really feel better if I did have one.

Thanks Ladies. It is terrible that I have to make suggestions to my doctor for new meds. I saw an Endocrinologist who told me it was all in my head and I have yet to find a OB/GNY who understands PCOS.

I took metformin aka GLucophage, it worked REALLY well I went from no period for a year to a period EVERY month ON TIME.. I could actually predict when it would come!!! Although it caused bowel problems for me.

i also take provera to bring on a period! it cause your uterus to shed...but it doesnt make you ovulate! i know what you mean though...i juat want to GET my period too! i hate when girls complain when they get their period every month! im always like "at least you get it!!!"

I had the most dredful heavy periods for the majority of my young life till into my 30's, I hated having my periods and the pain i endured would feel like i was dying sometimes, it also affected my mobility and I had differculty getting around so no more periods is what i long for... I know that this is totaly different , I have implamon in my arm whitch is a contraseption a little stick under the arm, and its a god send I havent had a period for 4years now, and I'm getting one in my are every three years till i don't need it any more, I can't handle getting my periods back NEVER... But yeh I asked several doctors and gino's what effect this has on my body and how safe this is, I have been told by several medical people that this is perfectley safe not to have your periods it does not do anything to your body not having any, I can't understand any one wanting to have them mmm YUCKY , But hey this is only what i am going through and this is what youm guys are going through, and we are all intitled to our own opinions... But i couldn't resist , YUCKY never never again... any ways sorry for writing this but i just can't understand wanting to have them as i have said before... xxxoooxxx luv lesley

Get yourself to another endo ASAP. You may need to have blood tests to check just what may be going on.If you have been seeing an Endocrinologist and he cannot find out what is going on, it is time to seek other care.
There may some reason you are not having a period. Your prolactin could be extremly high. I advise ANYONE who is not having a period to see your doctor about checks for your Pituitary, Thyroid, and Adrenal glands.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??
